Introduction

The Team and Task Test analyses a person mainly in a work situation. It reveals key behaviours and shows how these are important in terms of personal effectiveness and team motivation. The test is therefore relevant for people at work or who are otherwise engaged upon a task. Different perceptions people have of each other can be compared to better understand working relationships.

The test will assist you to:

  • consider how your own or another’s behaviour suits different situations
  • understand why aspects of work may be unsatisfactory
  • look for situations that are motivating
  • gain awareness of why people react to each other in different ways
  • plan how to change situations positively
  • provide useful information to assist you in the preparation of a ‘c.v.’ or personal statement

The importance of personality characteristics

Everyone has their own, characteristic style of thinking, feeling and behaving. These ‘characteristics’ make an individual happy and successful in certain situations, but less so in others. Awareness of your own and others’ characteristics is essential to enable a person to grasp challenges for which they have potential and overcome doubts that might hold them back. The test can be completed on yourself or can be done for the way you perceive someone else. Any number of people can complete the test for the way they perceive each other.
